Exploration Four!

Maixner, Ed. Will The Buzzing Stop? Drawing, Graph. "Bee Disappearance is a Honey of a Mystery." Kiplinger.com. 22 May 2007. Web. 15 March 2010.
This graph is definitely something I would need to include in my essay. I think it is always helpful to see data of whatever topic you are reading about. This table will help my point that the honey bee disaperances are a big deal and it isnt getting better. It shows how every year there is a decent sized drop in the number of honeybees. This helps me in arguing that we need to act, and we need to act now, before it is too late.

This image would be great for my essay. One of the things I will be discussing in my paper is the way in which the bees disappear. When a hive has Colony Collapse Disorder the worker bees do not return to the hive and the only thing left inside is the queen and some young bees that cannot take care of the hive on their own. This image is perfect for the information that I will include about how once the hive is broken down and abandoned nothing touches it. Usually other bees will come and make the hive their own home or scavengers will come and eat whats left. But we have found that nothing touches hives that have been affected with CCD. This image illustrates how the hive has a warning sign that shouts "Beware! Do not enter!"

I can use this image pretty effectively in my essay. I am arguing that the disappearance of our honey bees is all humans faults. One of the main reasons is that we pour millions of gallons of pesticides all over our crops and these have some negative effects on our bees as well as other creatures. This image would portray how we need to be more careful and probably come up with a better and less harmful way of farming or else the bees will go on "strike" and they will be no where to be found.

I really like this image and I know i will be using is somewhere in my essay. This image is perfect in describing how the honey bees are just suddenly leaving their hives and are no where to be found. What is also great about the picture is the coloring. Everything is dark and dreary, which is perfect because this is a serious topic and a serious problem.

Eploration three

So far I haven’t had very much luck finding research to go with what I want to argue for our next paper. I am not very good at searching for information, so I have been having a rough time. I think my biggest problem is that when I actually get myself to sit down and look online or wherever I want things to pop out at me right away and when they don’t I get really discouraged and I don’t look for a very long time. I really need to work on that. I also just really need to put more time into this project. I will admit that I haven’t put as much as I need to or as much as I would like to have already. Life has been a mess so that leaves me with little time for me to get the important things done, like my school work. I know it is no excuse, but life happens whether you like it or not. But what I have been able to find has made it seem like I will be able to go with my original plan of arguing that the bee disappearance’s is indeed a bad thing for our world and society, and that we the human race are the reason they are dying off. I am hoping to spend more time researching this week and weekend. I really want to find some strong and reputable articles and resources. I hate writing papers like this with little to back up what you are trying to get across to your audience; this isn’t supposed to be just an opinion paper, and I feel that it could easily end up that way. Where I am at right now with this project I would definitely without a doubt fail to reach the length requirement. I always freak out when I see a larger number like 8 and 10, but usually once I start writing I can get it done. But I am feeling a little worried with this one. I hope that my researching this week and weekend will be extremely productive and successful. I really need to get going and do well with this assignment.
